What is Startup cash needed?

Startup cash needed is the total cash required for essential opening purchases, early recurring bills and a buffer until the first realistic sale.

Why it matters

The price of equipment alone rarely shows the true cost of starting. Bills can arrive before the first customer pays, and small setup items add up. A complete cash figure helps you judge whether the plan fits your savings without relying on hoped-for sales.

How to use it

  1. Add only the purchases required to deliver the first job.
  2. Include recurring bills due before the first likely payment.
  3. Add a cash buffer for delays and cost overruns.
  4. Remove items that can wait until demand is proven.

The free StartupCostCheck combines opening costs, monthly costs and timing in one estimate. It then shows a practical buy-now list and delay list.
